I’m happy to give talks to groups and at events.
Themes:
- eating well
- eat for weight loss
- eat for better business
- eating for sport
- integrated performance coaching
- the highs and lows of international archery
- or something tailored for you.
.
I’m usually able to bring along something nice and healthy for people to try.
If a topic catches a group’s interest, I’m willing to be diverted from the planned talk!
An emerging trend is companies increasing their focus on the Health part of Health and Safety, recognising the impact on staff productivity and safety.
Duration – 1 hour to 1 day
Cost – priced individually.
Future talks
11/9/2021 – Lose Those Lockdown Pounds – As well as the talk I’ll have a stand all day at Morton Manor, Carlise for their Body, Mind and Spirit day.
15/10/2021 – The Create Escape, Milnthorpe. With Debs and Angela doing their double act in the kitchen while they prepare wonderful food for us and my Eat Yourself Well sessions in the morning and afternoon.

Sellafield Management of Contractors Meeting – lots of companies represented – lots of interest in eating well.
.
Rolls-Royce Marine, Derby – an organisation known for excellence in all things and serious about safety. Staff with keen minds were ready to question conventional food messages.
.
Change Camp, Gosforth, Newcastle – another great day of workshops on the theme of psychology of change. Mine was Integrated Performance Coaching.
.
Ennerdale Wellness Wednesdays at The Gather – Healthy Eating. Brave souls came out on a diabolical night to learn to eat well. At the end of the same month I did an Introduction to Mindfulness.
.
Carlisle Mind, Body and Spirit day – Help for Desperate Dieters. They were surprised that the solution to their weight problems is to give up dieting!
.
South Lakes District Council, Kendal – Eat for Better Business. An organisation that recognises the importance of high performing employees.
.
Change Camp, Newcastle – Introduction to Mindfulness saw a group of folks walking round outside in the sunshine – really slowly!
.
Energus, Lillyhall – Eat for Better Business for the Chamber of Commerce – my first full day workshop. Big impact on the delegates.
.
Whitehaven Ramblers are a healthy lot and recognise that eating well is important as well as exercise.
.
Two talks to West Cumbria Carers on Eating for Mental Health went down well.
.
Change Camp was wonderful as always, Andy Hunt has created something very special and it’s gained such a reputation in the Newcastle area that it sells out in advance.
.
West Cumbria U3A Science Group were full of great questions as ever when I spoke about archery. Sight adjustment for shooting up and down slopes had them scratching their heads.
.
The Cockermouth U3A were full of great questions and I had to deliver on my promise to be diverted from my planned talk. They didn’t want me to stop at my allotted finish time and lots of them came to chat afterwards. Thanks to all of you for your enthusiasm.
When I hit them with The Big 3 for mental health, Whithaven Bipolar Support Group were rightly shocked to hear the truth behind the things we’re told. It is shocking that politics and money take priority over people’s wellbeing.
Dean Women’s institute asked some great questions and seemed delighted, if shocked by my answers. Their home baking is unsurpassed so I did have half a scone and jam (for my reader in Australia!) with my tea afterwards.
.
Getting to a venue where the road was closed and all dug up was very exciting. Many thanks to the workman who walked me through the bumps and holes so I didn’t have to carry everything 1/2 mile! Cockermouth U3A Science Group were astounded by my talk ‘Busting Current Food Myths’. I was particularly delighted to speak to a gentleman afterwards who is a fan of Barry Groves and reversed his macular degeneration.
.
Busy day at Morton Manor Carlisle. Good to see regulars and new people. My talk, ‘Boost your energy by eating well’ went down a treat.
.
Fab day as always at the spring Change Camp in Gosforth, Newcastle. My talk on tools from sports psychology went down well so look out for it at Cumbria’s ChangeFest in the autumn! 100miles is too far to come to Cumbria for my group courses and one-to-one is more expensive (although more flexible). Someone came up with a great idea to gather a group together to do Eat for a Better Life by Skype.
.
West Cumbria ME/fibro support group, Mirehouse – Eating for Health. Lovely group of people dealing with their condition.
.
Rural Jubilee Club, Moor Row – Eating Well. After the talk they were selling wonderful home made cakes and jams.
.
Body, Mind and Spirit, Carlisle. Avoid Weight Gain This Christmas. Carlisle has been badly hit by the floods and I think people assumed it to be a no-go area this year so the show was very quiet. I might do this talk again next winter.
.
Gosforth, Newcastle – Autumn Change Camp – Introduction to Mindfulness. Breathing, eating, walking down the corridor. Most pleasant.
.
Sizergh, Cumbria – an impromptu Introduction to Mindfulness session when a date mix up meant that the Cumbria Coaching Network were without a speaker. We ended up walking around the pub garden!
.
Cumbria – Eat for Better Business talks for Nuvia staff. Believe it or not, the sun followed me here too!
.
Oxfordshire and Dorset – Eat for Better Business talks for Nuvia staff at their southern sites. Some great groups of people but for a poor northerner like me 29 degrees in Wool (that’s a place, not my clothing) was rather warm! And at 33 degrees in Cheshire I almost melted to a blob.
.
Seascale – Womens’ Institute – Highs and Lows of my international archery – including the impact of eating the wrong things of course!
.
Gosforth, Newcastle – Spring Change Camp. People worked through a goal they had so far not acheived in my integrated performance coaching talk.
.
Westlakes Science Park – Nuvia Limited. What to eat for better productivity, concentration and safety at work. Feedback from one delegate said I ‘rocked the room’!
.
Penrith – Cumbria County Archery Squad. Looked at pics of foods for competition days and talked about ways to keep energy levels and concentration up throughout the day.
.
Workington – MIND. What a super group of lovely people! They dived in right from the start and we had a great time talking about real food and edible products that appear to be food but do you more harm than good.
.
Carlisle- Eat and Lose Weight. Quiter day than usual at this all day event gave me the chance to chat with some great people afterwards and do on-the-spot eating diary analysis.
.
Seascale WI – Shocked these ladies speechless (which I’m told is a rare thing indeed). They liked my talk so much they immediately booked me for next year.
.
Cleator Moor – U3A – Large group of people eager to learn about real food.
.
Carlisle– Body, Mind and Spirit event – Eat and Lose Weight A lot of raised eyebrows when I explained to serial dieters what they could do that would be more effective than ‘eating less and exercising more’.
.
Loweswater Ladies said my talk on Eating for Health was, ‘very entertaining and highly informative’. A real treat for me was learning that Syke Farm at Buttermere not only has a tea room with home-made icecream, it also sells unpasturised milk. I’ll be visiting them!

.
Moresby – National Women’s Register. What a fun evening with a lively group.
Ambleside – Lakeland Women’s Business Network. Talk was on Integrated Performance Coaching but they were very interested in food!!
Carlisle – The Therapy Centre. A very well-informed group, they delved right into the science with their questions.

Maryport – Business in Common. All business owners, this lot know that their own health, wellbeing and ability to perform are everything.
Carlisle – Body, Mind and Spirit. A full day event including a talk and many individual conversations. Food affects us all and people want to feel better.

Seascale – Women’s Outlook. The sample sprouted beans went down well.
Mirehouse – Andy and Benny’s lunch club. Huge group of lovely, young-at-heart folk who still remember what real food was about.
Cockermouth – INSPIRE business group. Business owners seeking the edge through their own capabilities which of course are enhanced by learning to eat well.
